There is the memory of the town, Heinsburg, and the good memories from within there, and the river, with its different moods, calm, or at a roaring state... or maybe the control it had on the districts residents, till the bridge was built... I loved going to Heinsburg, Saturday nights, just to run up and down the streets, buy some penny candy and maybe go to a movie after mom had done her grocery shopping...
The people, the streets, stores, so many things can leave a lasting memory... OUR TOWN...
The river has control, most of the time, but you know that humans don’t always think that could be, so they do things to try and prove they are smarter and stronger, only to learn the hard way, that you must respect the river or one day you will wish you had...
ALVIN MEGER, a “ride on the river”
This picture was taken in 2009, after Tony and Marie, gave us a trip, on Shane Hanson’s River Boat, for our 55th wedding anniversary...
a time when the river has no intention of taking, control away from you, and can look like the calmest body of water you’d ever find... then it is beautiful ...
I gave Shane a bad time, when, after pointing out some river facts, he let the boat float up on a sand bar... he then stepped out and pushed the boat towards deeper water... well, I told him he should give us lessons on driving this thing, before abandoning us like that...
