Men from the Poundmaker and Little Pine Reserves pillaged stores at North Battleford and forced the population to take refuge behind the police barracks' stockade. By the end of March five hundred people and police were there. Dickins, of the N.W.M.P., was prepared for a siege at Fort Pitt.
