The Hotel, had a life of its own that I never got to see into, that often...We could go in the restaurant and lobby area’s, but the door that went into the bar, was a no no for kids... Many, kid’s sat and waited outside those doors...

For a lot of years we, living 5 miles north of town got to feel the effects of that barroom, when our neighbour north of Laurier Lake would get delayed there and then depended on his trusty team of horse’s, to take him all the way home...We would see his rig go home with nobody at the healm...We only knew Fred would be in the wagon box, fast asleep till they turned in to his yard...
