1RWiconweb_358.gifTHE YOUNG PEOPLE'S CLUB

This club was active in the late 1930's. Originally the young people met in the various homes, but as membership grew they met at Frog Lake Hall — every two weeks on Saturday nights. Minimum age was twelve. Usually there were over thirty people present. Any budding musician would play while the others danced. The club included not only Frog Lake residents but also people from Martin and Lake Whitney. Lunch was brought from home and a collection taken to cover expenses.

It happened that in those years there was a large number of young people in the area, but in the years to follow there would not be. Consequently, as some went off to war, some entered their chosen occupations away from home, and others went away to school or married, the club was disbanded and never started up again.
